We’re thrilled to announce our expansion to support 25 of the top nursing schools in America, and to highlight our support for 188 North American universities with top-notch nursing degree programs! To celebrate, we’re launching the MPOWER Nursing Scholarship Program. In keeping with MPOWER’s commitment to empower high-potential global citizens to realize their educational aspirations and improve the quality of life in emerging markets, this scholarship program will focus on students with the greatest potential to effect positive social change through nursing, especially by improving nursing services to underserved and vulnerable populations. We're offering one $5,000 scholarship, one $2,000 scholarship, and one $1,000 scholarship for international students in the U.S. and Canada who demonstrate the potential to effect positive social change through nursing! The student must: -Be 18 years or older -Be enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate-level nursing program at one of the universities MPOWER supports. -Have one of the following immigration statuses: For study at one of the 300+ U.S. universities, MPOWER supports: F1 visa status, Green Card holder (permanent resident) status, or DACA recipient status [Note: U.S. citizens studying in the U.S. are not eligible.] For study at one of the 20+ Canadian universities MPOWER supports: Canadian permanent resident or Canadian study permit holder [Note: Canadian citizens studying in Canada are not eligible.] All that’s required is a short application and two brief essays!

Other Criteria

MPOWER will select winners based on: The quality of the applicant’s written essays; the essays should demonstrate clarity of thought, compelling goals and vision, and superior writing skills in English; The applicant’s record of academic and (if applicable) professional distinction; The applicant’s potential to effect positive social change through nursing, especially for vulnerable and underserved populations.
